A vibrant new expression that brings together Caol Ila's signature coastal character with bright, tropical influences. The result is a beautifully balanced 19- year-old whisky, where sweet fruit, gentle smoke and fresh agave notes create a distinctive and memorable dram.
Nose
Tropical sherbet, burnt pineapple and soft smoke, with hints of crispy burnt ends.
Palate
Fragrant and beautifully balanced, layering juicy pineapple over gentle BBQ smoke.
Finish
Long-lasting tropical fruit, delicate embers and a fresh agave twist
Fraser Steen –
A distinctive Caol Ila. Peat leads on the nose, followed by BBQ sauce, smoky bacon and a persistent note of green olive. Burnt pineapple and fresh grass emerge on the palate, while the spirit’s maritime character deepens its green, savoury edge.
Peat arrives early and gathers weight through a long finish, with olive and coastal notes lingering strongly. At 50.5%, it is intense yet well balanced, with no harshness or thinness.
The tequila cask sits remarkably well with the Caol Ila distillate, drawing tropical fruit, grass, smoke and salinity into a cohesive whole. Unusual, complex and memorable.
